Last night was time to catch up on my missed Reality TV programming from the past week, and I must say I am disappointed on ALL fronts.
Disappointment #1 – Dancing with the Stars:
We’re losing Jake Pavelka….God no, somebody please say it isn’t so!! He’s too darn cute to eliminate. His dancing homage to Tom Cruise in Risky Business is still fresh in my mind (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onmqBp0hZ_o). damn, Damn, DAMN!!!
Disappointment #2 – American Idol:
Siobahn Magnus is gone….I really thought she should have made it into the final 3! I think part of her problem is similar to characteristics that kept Adam Lambert from winning last year…she is just too unconventional for Mainstream Middle America. What a voice….I really loved seeing what she was going to do each week.
Disappointment #3 – Survivor:
Disgusting Villain Russell remains another week. The Heroes should have easily eliminated Parvati per their plan, but Candice foolishly falls for Russell’s manipulation, putting Sandra in doubt on flipping to the Heroes side. Damn that Candice!! Amanda nearly makes a move that can put the Villains on the ropes by snatching the clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol from Danielle, but Colby makes Amanda give it back to her without reading it first!! (More on Amanda’s perspective on this at http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/04/30/survivor-heroes-vs-villains-amanda-colby/). And I thought JT would be the biggest Idiot of the season for giving his Immunity Idol to Russell. Quite honestly, the Heroes deserve to lose for being so collectively stupid. I do have to say that this has been the most interesting Survivor series in years due to the sheer unpredictability of the results week after week.
